Conservative Approach to Platelet Transfusion in a Preterm Infant

We describe a case of preterm infant managed conservatively using lower threshold 25 K/uL (25 x 103/μL) for platelet transfusion. saved three extra transfusions by not the 50 (50 threshold. No complications thrombocytopenia, including petechiae, purpura, intraventricular bleeding, ecchymosis, hemorrhage, were noted following conservative approach.
